Dull skin

Dull skin lacks the fresh glow and can look tired or lifeless. This is often due to a buildup of dead skin cells, not enough hydration, or influences from stress, pollution and sunlight. Fortunately, we offer effective treatments to restore your skin’s radiance.

What are the options for treating dull skin?

There are several treatments that help brighten and renew dull skin:

Peelings: A peel is an effective treatment to refresh and renew dull skin. Peelings work by removing the top layer of skin containing dead skin cells, resulting in smoother, more radiant skin. There are different types of peels, ranging from mild to intense, each with their own benefits for dull skin.
Hydrafacial: This is a great treatment for addressing dull skin and is known for its instant “glow effect.” This facial is a combination of deep cleansing, exfoliation, hydration and nourishing serums, all in one session.
Vivace: This is a combination of microneedling and radiofrequency energy that works deeper into the skin. Vivace not only stimulates collagen and elastin, but also works in the deeper layers of skin for firming and lifting, leaving the skin looking younger and more radiant.

Which treatment is best for me?

Peelings and the Hydrafacial are ideal for those who want a quick skin refresh and suffer from superficial blemishes. While the Vivace is suitable for those seeking not only a pick-me-up, but also firming and lifting. Consult with one of our skin therapists about the best option for you.

The causes of dull skin

The causes of dull skin can vary, but here are some common factors that can cause dull skin:

  • Accumulation of dead skin cells: Skin constantly renews itself, but if dead skin cells are not removed properly, it can cause a drab appearance.
  • Lack of hydration: Dry skin reflects less light and can therefore look duller. Not drinking enough water and a lack of moisturizers can make this worse.
  • Stress: Stress affects blood circulation and hormone balance, which can cause a tired look and lack of color in the face.
  • Lack of sleep: Poor sleep reduces cell renewal and can lead to pale, dull skin.
  • Aging: As we age, the skin’s natural repair process slows down. As a result, the skin becomes thinner, loses its resilience and sometimes looks sallow.
  • Pollution and UV radiation: Exposure to pollution and sunlight causes oxidative stress on the skin, which can lead to skin damage and a dull appearance.
  • Unhealthy lifestyle: Smoking, a diet high in processed foods, and too little exercise reduce blood flow to the skin, making it look less radiant.
  • Improper skin care: not cleaning the skin properly, or using products that do not suit your skin type can cause the skin to look dull and out of balance.
  • Abdomen – Fat on or around the abdominal area, also known as “love handles,” can be reduced.
  • Hips and thighs – The treatment helps reduce fat deposits on the sides of the hips or the inner and outer thighs.
  • Back – Excess fat on the back, such as fat rolls at the bra line, can be effectively addressed.
  • Double chin – Cryolipolysis can even be applied to smaller areas, such as the removal of a double chin.
